For a lot of athletes after high school the road to get where you want typically means taking the junior college route to prepare for the big stage.
That was the case for former Maur Hill-Mount Academy Hana Ronnebaum who chose the junior college route of Fort Scott Community College before transferring to the University of Saint Mary where she is currently experiencing some of the best success you could have.
Ronnebaum is currently in her junior season on the Spires’ volleyball team and has helped lead the team to a trip to the NAIA National Tournament in Iowa.
She has earned her way into a starting role where she has compiled 115 kills on the year with 56 digs and 22 total blocks.
At Fort Scott she finished third on the team in kills in 2018 with 291 while posting double-digit kills in 13 matches in her sophomore campaign.
At Maur Hill-Mount Academy, Ronnebaum earned a first team all-Northeast Kansas League selection her senior season while she earned an honorable mention
Ronnebaum and the Spires have put together a 30-12 season including an 11-1 mark in the KCAC Conference and after a 3-0 victory over Dakota State University in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament the Spires are into the National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
Saint Mary is currently 0-2 in pool play with losses to Indiana Wesleyan and Concordia and the Spires will face Montana Tech Thursday night to wrap up pool play.
