This week's "Blast from the Past" is Laura Macke who was a former star at Nemaha Central.
Macke is in her senior season with the Kansas State Wildcats as they’re off to a great start including a week inside the top-25 rankings.
They beat KU last night 69-61 to improve to 14-4 and 4-2 in Big 12 play. Macke posted nine points in a season high 25 minutes along with nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Her season high is 10 points against Omaha.
So far, she’s appeared in 17 games and is averaging four points and three rebounds per game while hitting 35% of her shots and 71% from the free throw line.
During her time at Nemaha Central, Laura was one of the top players in the state. Her senior season she averaged over 17 points, six rebounds and two assists per game. Her junior season she led Nemaha Central to a 20-5 record and fourth place finish in Class 3A.
Her accolades include multiple First Team All-State selections, and she also eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in her career.
