This week’s “Blast from the Past” takes us to the University of Saint Mary Spires football program. Spires are 3-6 and coming off a loss to McPherson College.
But they have had success throughout the season in the running game as they average over 130 yards per game on the ground.
Big reason for success on the ground is the play of the offensive line. Former Horton Charger Michael Gabbard seeing some time on the offensive line that’s helped propel that running game.
The 6-foot 300-pound lineman from Horton is in his senior season. The Spires have two more games this season with Bethel this weekend Tabor College on the 12th.
