The Holton softball team is now 14-0 on the season and one of only two undefeated teams left in Class 4A.  The Wildcats swept visiting Nemaha Central on Thursday 12-2 in five innings and 15-0 in four innings.  Holton had five different players hit a homerun and now has hit 19 home runs on the season with a team batting average of nearly .450.  

In game one, Gracie Gallagher got the win and now has 64 strikeouts versus only allowing two walks this spring. She also went 3-4 at the plate and scored three runs, as did Brooke Flewelling.  Flewelling opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the first frame and the Cats never looked back as they hit a trio of two-run glory balls in the opener.  Sadie Walker and Olivia Summers also went deep while Timber Wilson added a pair of doubles among eight players that had at least one hit.  

Holton led 6-0 going into the third inning when Nemaha Central pieced together three straight hits to score two runs and left a couple more on in scoring position. Taryn Ganstrom and Lacy Young each delivered RBI hits for the Thunder, who totaled just four singles in the first contest. Ganstrom also pitched the first four innings before Nemaha Central fell to 7-3 on the season with the pair of losses.  

Sadie Walker sent another over the fence and pitched game two for Holton with plenty of help as the Wildcats scored eight times in first inning and led 13-0 at the end of two frames helped by a few Nemaha Central errors. Grace Utz, the only senior playing for Holton witll Ally Beard injured, homered in the second game for the Cats as did Timber Wilson.
