Washington County Tiger, Dylan Hodgson Running Past the Competition
Dylan Hodgson

Down to only two high school track competitions left in his career, Washington County Tiger senior, Dylan Hodgson is looking to put a final stamp on his successful high school running campaign.

This year has been one solid season for the Tiger senior, racking up wins in the distance competitions of the 800, 1600 and 3200 meters. Last week Hodgson posted times of 2:01.68, 4:37.95 and 10:20.36 to sweep the Twin Valley League titles in the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter runs, while helping the Tiger boys claim the team TVL track title.

Throughout the season Hodgson has picked up top flight finishes in all three distance competitions while also competing on the Tigers 4x400 meter relay team during the year. One of Dylan’s best times came in the KU Relays where he posted a time of 4:17.81 to take eighth out of 36 competitors in the 1600 meter run.

Hodgson as a junior was one of the big winners at State track in any classification as he picked up 2A State titles in the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter runs behind times of 1:59.55, 4:22.72 and 9:20.76. His times in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs earned him his name in the record books as they not only earned him the State title but set new State records.

The Tiger senior looks to return to State in Wichita and put the final stamp on his high school running career before continuing his athletic career at the University of Kansas next year.
