Garret Dunlap

Standing atop the podium that is something Doniphan West Mustang senior, Garret Dunlap has done with regularity in his wrestling career and this year has not been any different.
Dunlap put together a 3-0 day on the mats most recently at the Shawnee Mission North Invitational last Saturday and won the 160lbs weight classes, picking up his fourth tournament title this year. Garret registered all three of his wins via pin in 1:06, 44 seconds and 4:18 and that gave him 75 career wins by pin which is a new school record. Doniphan West as a team took seventh place out of 14 schools with only four guys competing for the Mustangs.
The senior with the 3-0 performance recently moved to 28-2 on the year and has now won the Mission Valley, Onaga and Tonganoxie Invitational titles at 160lbs along with the Shawnee Mission North Invitational title. He also recorded a second place finish at the Rossville Invitational and third place finish at the Jayhusker Invitational in Marysville.
Dunlap has been ranked all season by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association coming in at fourth in Class 3-2-1A at 160lbs in the most recent polls and once again has his sights set on another strong finish to a wrestling season and returning to State where he has competed the last three years with a fifth and second place finish his junior and sophomore year.
