Reagan Kirkwood

One weekend doubled the totaled of wins on the volleyball court for the Valley Falls Dragons as they improved to 10-4 by going 5-0 at the Lyndon Invite to win the tournament.

Dragons opened the action in the Lyndon Invite with pool play and beat Lebo in straight sets but needed three sets to beat Wabaunsee and Burlingame in a pair of tough contests. Valley Falls against Burlingame lost the first set but bounced back to take the match. The 3-0 performance in pool play moved Valley Falls to the Semifinals were they beat Marais des Cygnes Valley in straight sets and then another showdown with Burlingame loomed in the Championship and Valley Falls won this time in straight sets.

Helping spear head the great performance by the Dragons was the play of junior outside hitter, Reagan Kirkwood who had a strong performance at the tournament with 30 kills, 11 aces, four blocks and 58 digs in the five contests. The first team All-Northeast Kansas League player from last year has her team off to a strong start this season helping lead the charge for the Dragons.

Kirkwood and company look to continue their recent play as they look to capture the NEKL title for the fourth straight year and challenge in the postseason.
