Beau Horn

The 2018-19 high school wrestling season is in the books after state wrestling tournaments wrapped up on Saturday, and of our 31 area athletes that competed just Riverside’s Beau Horn was the only wrestler that made it to his respective title match.

Horn had the top finish of any area wrestler taking second in the 132 pound weight class, falling in the championship match by a 3-1 decision.

He started off the tournament going a perfect 3-0, opening up with a 15-0 technical fall victory in the first round.

He then picked up two wins via decision, winning his second round match 6-0 before punching his ticket to the title match with an 8-3 victory.

Horn’s second place finish gave him revenge on last year’s state tournament run in which he went just 1-2 and finished without a spot on the podium.

He finishes his junior season with an outstanding record of 35-6 and high hopes of getting back to the championship match at state next season.
