Nahcs Wahwassuck

After a strong freshman season averaging 12 points and two assists per game, Royal Valley sophomore Nahcs Wahwassuck knew he would have to take an extended roll into this season in hopes of improving on the team’s 8-13 record from a year ago.

On Friday night Wahwassuck executed his new role perfectly as he scored a game-high 22 points adding 9 rebounds and 4 assists in a 55-46 win on the road at Perry Lecompton for the Panthers to start the season off 1-0.

He started all 21 varsity games last season and did it all averaging in double figures showing that when he gets it going, he’s one of the toughest players to guard in the Big 7 League.

Wahwassuck was good enough to earn a first team all-Big 7 League selection a year ago and Friday night took the right step towards a possible all-state selection this season.

Next up for Nahcs and the Panthers is an off night Tuesday before a tough road test at Nemaha Central Friday night with live coverage on 92.1 KMZA.
