So far in the 2020 season the Hanover Wildcats have breezed through their schedule with big win after big win behind the play of senior quarterback Jacob Jueneman who has done it all this season.
Jueneman’s big year continued Friday night as he scored five touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to a 74-26 beat down of Frankfort putting Hanover back in the 8-man DII State Championship game for the first time since 2018.
He did it all on Friday throwing for 127 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 10 times for 112 yards and three scores.
On the season Jueneman has now thrown for 1,111 yards and 19 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions, while adding 665 yards on the ground with 17 touchdowns including three games with over 100 yards.
His biggest output throwing the football game in the Wildcats 56-6 win over Osborne in the playoff opener where he threw for 289 yards and six touchdowns, while his biggest game rushing came in Hanover’s regular season win over Osborne where he ran for 134 yards and three scores.
He will almost certainly be an All-Twin Valley League selection when the honors are released next week and will also likely be an all-state selection as well.
Jueneman will look to lead the Cats to a sixth state championship in school history on Saturday as Hanover brings their undefeated recorded to Newton for the 8-man DII title game against unbeaten and No. 1-ranked St. Francis with kickoff scheduled for 11 a.m.
