The Hiawatha Redhawk sophomore burst on the scene this year in quite impressive fashion on her way to a dominating fall in cross country winning every race and ultimately a Class 3A state title. After establishing distance running was the name of her game in the fall and that she is force to be reckoned with, Jordan turned her attention to the distance runs this spring on the track.
Just like her cross country season Puvogel went unbeaten the 1600 and 3200 meter runs all the way to Regional titles earning a spot at state in both events. Jordan posted a time of 5:23.17 in the 1600 meters over five seconds better than second, while registering a time of 11:58.98 in the 3200 meters.
In the process of competing at Regionals the Redhawk sophomore earned one more spot in a state competition qualifying for state in the 800 meter run taking home second place, less than two seconds behind first place.
Jordan all season tallied wins, closed in on records and broke records on the track. In the Big Seven League meet she registered a time of 5:15.70 to top the old record by nearly five seconds.
Last year in 4A, Jordan qualified for state in the 1600 meters placing fifteenth, but this year in Class 3A she looks to go for multiple state titles. The Redhawk sophomore has been soaring all school year and looks to set flight into the summer with a performance to cap of a stellar year, this coming Friday and Saturday.
