Abby Elffner

The Hiawatha volleyball team is coming off a strong weekend where they won their home invitational for a fifth year in a row.

Senior Abby Elffner was a big reason for the Redhawks success. They went a perfect 6-0 in the tournament and didn’t drop a single set. They beat Jefferson County North in the Semifinals and Centralia in the championship.

Both teams are in the latest rankings by the Kansas Volleyball Association.

Abby was 32 kills shy of 800 in her career heading into the weekend and was the only returning unanimous all-league selection in the Big 7 from last year.
