The Setter in a crucial position in volleyball as they set up their teammates for the kill to earn the point in a match, without the proper passes execution in a match would not be as easy.
That's were junior, Elizabeth Magdanz comes in for the Falls City Sacred Irish squad as she's been setting up her teammates all season to help them to a 15-2 record thus far this year and most recently a perfect 5-0 mark and a first place finish in the Axtell Invitational.
Irish went through pool play with straight set wins over Lewiston and Axtell, while beating Linn their toughest match on the day in three sets. After that the Irish took on Pawnee City in the winner's bracket semifinals and again won in straight sets to set up a battle with Diller-Odell in the championship match which they won in straight sets 25-20 and 25-18.
Elizabeth was a key cog in the Irish's execution throughout the tournament setting up her teammates continually for kills and coming up with clutch plays on defense and serving quite well in the process, also. Magdanz registered 109 assists in the matchup, while adding 34 digs, six kills and four block assists. Her contributions didn't stop there as she touted a 100% serving percentage on the day (44/44) with a pair of aces.
The Irish have had a great start to the season thus far, posting a 15-2 mark and look to continue that momentum throughout the rest of the year.
