Brandon Schmelzle & Eli Broxterman

Brandon Schmelzle and Eli Broxterman have helped the Axtell boys basketball team get back to the State Tournament.

The Eagles defeated Blue Valley-Randolph 59-44 and Hanover 61-55 in the Sub-State Tournament.

Brandon averaged over 12 points, seven assists, and four rebounds per game in the tournament. For the season, he’s averaging nearly 14 points, five rebounds, and four assists per game.

Eli averaged over 12 points, seven rebounds, and nearly two assists per game in the tournament. His season averages are nearly 14 points, over five rebounds, and three assists per game.

Axtell finished fourth place at the State Tournament last season, and both have been part of the dynasty that is Axtell football, helping the Eagles win their third straight State Title in November.
