Week five of the regular season and the second week of District Four Classification 1A gets wrapped up with a dominant 52-0 win over Maur Hill for the Centralia Panthers. The Panthers entered the night 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play, finishing up their league play a week ago, winning another consecutive league title. The Maur Hill Ravens fly in on the road to Centralia’s third straight home game at 2-2 and 0-1 in district play.

The game began with the Panthers winning a coin toss and electing to receive the ball going into the second half. The Ravens had their first possession ended abruptly with a three-and-out followed by a punt, setting up Centralia on their 40-yard line. On Centralia’s first drive, they would be set up near the one-yard line by sophomore Quintin Aldefer ripping a 42-yard run. The first possession for Centralia was capped off by the fifth play of the drive from the one-yard line by their senior runningback, Henry Heideman. The two-point conversion was also successful in making it an 8-0 game going into the second quarter.

Two scores were added in the second quarter by the Centralia Panthers, the second score of the game for the Panthers was punched in from the 4-yard line by senior quarterback Jacob Flentie for his first score of the day. The last touchdown of the first half was also once again driven in from the 1-yard line of the workhorse senior, Henry Heideman, for his second and final score of the game. It was 24-0 going into the second half, and Maur Hill struggled to finish drives in the first two quarters with an included turn-over-on-downs on the Raven's third possession. The Ravens also had started the game with Owen Dulac at quarterback, but by the third drive, had switched back to their All-League Honorable Mention quarterback, Luke Siebert.

The Last wind of scoring swooshed in in the third quarter. The Panthers would seek the end zone four more times in the third with three offensive touchdowns and a defensive. Flentie would help the game get to 32-0 with a one-play 55-yard touchdown run to start the second half; then, on his next possession, he would find Quinton Aldefer on a screen pass that would then go for a 43-yard touchdown pass. Quinton Aldefer also had the next touchdown in the game for Centralia to extend the lead to 46-0 with a 30+ yard interception return for a touchdown off of Luke Siebert. Even more impressively for the athletic sophomore, Quinton Aldefer also had another interception on the next Maur Hill possession, which helped set up the final touchdown of the game, giving it the final score of 52-0, with a 1-yard rushing touchdown from Mason McClain.

The player of the game was earned by two players tonight, Jacob Flentie and Quinton Aldefer. Jacob Flentie finished the night with (unofficial stats) 138 rushing yards and 108 passing yards, going 3-of-8 while passing, Flentie also had two rushing touchdowns and one passing. Quinton Alderfer joins the list, too, with his 105 total offensive yards and his added impressive receiving touchdown of forty-three yards. Alderfer also finished the game with two interceptions, one being returned for a defensive score, the Panther's third of the season

Despite the offensive and defensive struggles, Maur Hill Ravens will look to go back to nest next week and take on the 1-4 Doniphan West Mustangs at home to try to bounce back; the Ravens are now 2-3 on the year and 0-2 in district play. Centralia will stay tied at the top of their district now being 2-0, and will improve to 4-1 on the year. The Panthers will go back on the road for the second to last time this year, taking on the Horton Chargers.
