KSHSAA held their Executive Board Meeting June 12-13 and approved changes to the postseason formats and sites for basketball, football, wrestling, and track.

Basketball has multiple changes including one taking effect this upcoming season for 2024-2025. Classes 3A, 2A, 1A-I, and 1A-II will each be divided into four regions and then seeded into two sub-states within the region (sub-state 1 will have seeds 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 16 with sub-state two having seeds 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14, and 15). The winner of each sub-state will advance to the state tournament.

The sites for basketball are set to change at the beginning of March in 2026. The state tournaments will be moving to four sites with four facilities hosting the seven classes. That schedule, among other details, including class designations and site venues will be announced at the end of the 2024-2025 season.

The state championship games in football will be moving to three sites with three games being played at each site.

Emporia State will be hosting 6A (11/29/24 at 2:00 PM), 5A (11/30/24 at 7:00 PM), and 4A (11/30/24 at 1:00 PM). Hutchinson Community College will be hosting 3A (11/30/24 at 12:00 PM), 2A (11/29/24 at 6:00 PM), and 1A (11/30/24 at 5:00 PM). Kiowa County in Greensburg will be hosting 8M-II (11/30/24 at 11:00 AM), 8M-I (11/30/24 at 7:00 PM), and 6M (11/30/24 at 3:00 PM).

Girl's wrestling will now have four classes to match the boy's classification designations. All classes will each have their own site for the weekend. Class 3-1A will be in Hays with 4A in Salina. Park City Arena and another location to be named at a later date will hold the 5A and 6A tournaments. Sites and regional dates will be released in September.

Finally for track the qualification for the state meet will be changed to now have the top 3 plus the next four best regional performers.
