The Corning legion baseball team hit three home runs on Wednesday night on their way to a 13-4 (5 inning) win at home against Holton.

Drew Gibbs and Brett Heideman each hit two-run home runs in the first inning while Rayce Fisher powered out a solo home run in the third inning.

Corning led the game 7-4 going into the bottom of the fourth inning but put up six runs which included a two RBI single from Gibbs and four straight bases loaded walks and that was enough to put the game away via the run rule.

Gibbs was named the McDonalds of Hiawatha and Seneca player of the game going 3-for-3 with a home run, two singles, four RBI's, and two runs scored.

Incoming freshman Grant Warner led the Holton offense going 3-for-3 with a single, double, a home run, and driving in all four of the Holton runs. Warner had an RBI single in the first inning and he would hit a three-run home run in the third inning.

Corning finished the game with 13 runs, 10 hits, two errors, and five left on base while Holton finished the game with four runs, four hits, one error, and six left on base.
